The term vegan was coined in 1944 by Donald Watson, the founder of the Vegan Society of the UK. He used the first three and last two letters of the word vegetarian to create an identity for those who did not want to participate in any form of animal abuse whatsoever.
The gradual and sustained rise of veganism as a way of living can easily be attributed to the combined efforts of the growing number of activists and their novel ways of advocacy.
We are not here to wait for the time
when the use of animals ends…
We are here to create that time.
